Who Am I?

I fear that is a question I do not have a complete answer for. But....here are the basics:As you probably already know, I go by Eli, which is pronounced Ellie and short for Elizabeth. I started writing in 2020, same year I joined the fandom, and it has become a huge help in processing my own inner turmoil. I love BTS...so so much. They have led me to the best support system I have ever had, and have carried me through some of my hardest moments in life. Each one of the boys holds a very special place in my heart, all for very different reasons, and I will cherish them for as long as I live.

My Stance on Shipping
I am a Jikook fanfic writer. If you've made it this far, you are aware of that. However, I do not consider myself a Shipper. Shippers in today's timeline wars are much too focused on needing the boys to be in a romantic relationship (usually with a very specific member and anything outside of that is outrageous to think about). It has become toxic in a way I refuse to partake in. I believe deep in my heart that Jikook have a very special bond. I also believe that it is a good possibility that they are not the only pair who share that kind of bond within the group. HOWEVER. They are individuals, with their own lives and choices and societal and cultural pressures and influences. I support these men in whatever they do, and who they date or love or fuck is quite honestly none of my business, or yours. It will not change my opinion on them as people. I only want for them to be happy. The details in how or why their happiness comes to be is really not important to me.

My Stance on FanFics
Obviously, I'm ok with them lol. What I'm not ok with is refusing to tag triggering topics for a "shock factor." My stories are purely fictional. Ideas pop up and I can't let them go. I have a strong connection with the image of jikook in my mind, and it allows for these ideas to flow easier. My characters are still fictional. They share the name and image of the boys, but they are not a reflection of who I think they are as real people. Because, quite honestly, I don't know who they are as real people. None of us do. We know what they show us and what other people say. I believe they are the best people in the world. Period. Sometimes the characters in my fics named after them are little shits. But that in no way reflects how I feel about the actual person the character shares a name and face with.
